When the thought
of South Indian tiffins strike me, I always find myself in Kannadhasan
Salai, near Natesan park, standing just in front of Balaji Fast food (popularly known as Kannadhasan Mess). Not too big in space but,still Kannadhasan mess finds a big space in people's heart.
Opened in 1997, this hotel is owned by the
descendants of Kannadhasan, a famous lyricist of all time, who impressed people
with his literary skills. Kannadhasan's daughter Kalaiyarasi and her family is
running this famous place impressing people with their culinary skills.
Kannadhasan's mess is a small street shop but the
crowd that flocks here are of all status. Placed in an active locality and comparitively with cheaper cost, almost less than Rs.200 for two persons, it is
convenient for people to access this mess. The ambiance and parking are
not to be expected. This place is all about the food it provides you with.
Nei poondu dosa, Vegetarian koththu parotta, variety of vadai, range of
chutneys and a lot more! They make it a point to not repeat the daily special
menu. This place is surely a paradise for south Indian tiffin!
